Our wonderful General Manager Amory and the team promise wonderful, warming service (the perfect escape from the cold), whilst Head Chef leads our kitchen with a season-special menu.

Suitable for festive gatherings of up to thirty guests, this spot is great for bottle-popping and from-the-tap Christmas parties. The bar has standing and seating space, nibbles and Christmas sharers available to order from the kitchen.

Our Christmas gift vouchers are the perfect solution to your gifting problem. Your loved-ones can use their Christmas present throughout the year (we don’t just give the gift of the pub during the festive season).
Ring in 2027 at your favourite local (that’s us). We’ve got the bubbles flowing, the delicious pizzas to bring you through to midnight, and a selection from-the-taps that’s worth celebrating.
Our drinks lists are the perfect party-starter this Christmas. Choose from our extensive wine list (red, white or sparkling), or dive into our selection of delicious beers on the bar (by the bottle or on the taps).
Whilst we don’t have rooms, a 5-minute drive will transport you to cosy, comforting bedrooms in our sister-pub with rooms, The Alexander Pope. Choose from a (large) selection of thirty-one rooms to relax and re-con from the night before.

Unfortunately The Rising Sun doesn’t have exclusive spaces for private hire. You can semi-privately hire either the bar or restaurant with overflow into our heated and covered garden.

Yes, gift vouchers are available and can be used as a festive gift for food, drinks or a future visit.
Yes, The Rising Sun has limited on-site parking, making it easier for guests visiting for Christmas parties, festive dining and Christmas Day celebrations. Any additional parking is on roadside or Marble Hill Park pay and display.
